Ghana’s Aviation Minister Advocates Affordable Air Transportation

Ghana’s Minister of Aviation, Honourable Joseph Kofi Adda has called on the various stakeholders in West Africa’s air transport sector to work on the necessary economics and make sure that the many people willing to fly in the sub-region possess the disposable income they need to afford air travel.
Speaking in an exclusive interview with albinuschiedu.com during the just concluded 28th ACI Annual General Assembly, Conference & Exhibition held at Kempinski Hotel, Accra, Ghana from October 12 to 18, 2019, Adda said the potential for growth of the sector in the sub-region was quite high but needed to be harnessed.
He said though people were eager to fly, “we have to work on the economics to make sure that the disposable income they need, they are able to afford it. The airlines also need to work on making sure that port fees and charges are brought down to minimum level for them to be able to maintain the good services they are providing and also, to make the tickets affordable to boost flying in Africa.”
