Airports Council International (ACI) says the ACI Fund in collaboration with ACI Africa under the African Airports Development Program will be holding in Ghana, Accra from 07 to 11 October 2019, a practical training course in English for candidates already enrolled on the APEX Safety Assessor Training Program (SATP).
Ali Tounsi, ACI Secretary General says the training course will cover three modules independently, namely: Safety Management (SMS), Aerodrome and Ground Aids (AGA), and Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF).
The ACI Airport Excellence (APEX) in Safety programme was set up primarily to meet industry demands to enhance the level of safety at airports by conducting peer reviews between member airports. To date, around 50 African airports have benefitted from this program and as part of the capacity building process on the African continent, more and more ACI certified African experts are being used as assessors during APEX reviews.
“We have the pleasure to inform you that limited seats are available for external participants to attend either one of these modules, i.e. 4 seats in SMS, 2 seats in AGA and 1 seat in ARFF. This is indeed a unique opportunity to interact with experts and safety assessors regarding technical knowledge, airport reviews and examination techniques. We have to inform you that attendance to this course, as an external participant will not grant you an SATP diploma” he said.
This training course is free of charge but participants are required to take charge of their return air tickets and hotel accommodation expenses in Accra, Ghana. Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) will offer local transportation and meals during the training course.
Deadline for registration is Friday 20 September 2019.
