Why African Airlines Are Not Making Money, By Olowo

The President of Aviation Safety Round Table Initiative (ASRTI) and President, Sabre West Africa, Mr. Gbenga Olowo says the weak performance of African airlines that has led to negative profitability records amidst records of profits by carriers in other continents, can be reversed.

Delivering his Welcome Note at the Quarter4 2018 Business Breakfast Meeting organized by ASRTI, Olowo identified regional conflicts, freedoms of the air and challenging operating environment as major causes of weak performance by African airlines.

He said high taxes, poor regulatory policies and absence of good corporate governance have all contributed to challenging operating conditions for African airlines.

Theme of the BBM held at Golfview Hotel, Ikeja, Lagos was Short Life Span Of Nigerian Airlines: The Importance of Good Corporate Governance.
