Maybe before you got married, you never had sex with anybody. Now, you have been married to your spouse for several years without a child and you are wondering what sin could have caused your predicament. Well, you are not alone.
In fact, a particular Nigerian pastor was born into a Christian home. He grew up not having sex with any lady until he married his wife at age 34. As at when he was 50 years, his wife had not conceived. This is a pastor with an endless list of people he prayed for and they conceived, some delivering multiple babies.
There was a particular church dedication of triplets he conducted in South Africa. He had one of the babies on his right palm, one on his left palm and the third at his back. After the programme, the parents of the children took way their children while pastor went home without any.
Initially, the medical doctors he consulted with his wife, attributed their challenge to low sperm count, hormone imbalance, etc. Therapies were recommended and applied. According to him, the amount of money he spent on medical consultations for 20 years would have been enough for him to erect three double-floor buildings. One of such consultants at Ikeja was being paid N10,000.00 weekly as consultancy fee.
In the midst of the storm, this man’s faith in the Almighty God was still living. He said that at a point, he almost lost interest in having sexual intercourse with his aging wife because Satan was asking: “Where is the result of all the intercourses you have been having?” It is actually a very long, touching, real life story. Let me cut the story short.
When his wife got pregnant at the age of 50 in 2016, someone in America invited her to come over and deliver the baby in the United States but he refused. He said: “If she goes to America and comes back with a baby, people may allege or suspect that the childbirth was “arranged.” So, the woman was walking the streets of Lagos with her pregnancy for people to see that delay is not denial. If you hold on to your faith in the God of all flesh, keeping your faith in him ever alive, and refusing to listen to the loud voice of Satan in this world, God will use your case to show that he is bigger than any challenge.
As at August 2017 when this pastor was sharing this testimony with us in Lagos, his baby boy was eight months old. THERE IS NOTHING GOD CANNOT DO (Luke 1:37).
There is also a particular female pastor in Lagos with an amazing profile. She is a gynaecologist, a psychologist (PHD), a staff of an international organisation and a church pastor.
For three years after her wedding, her pregnancies were ending up as miscarriages. This is someone who helps and advises people on how to get pregnant and conducts child delivery processes successfully. As a pastor, she prays for people to deliver babies and they do.
Trust our people in Africa. Tongues were wagging and mockers were busy. One day, she was to dedicate a set of twins in her church. The father of the babies attempted to hand over one of the babies to her for prayers, but his wife pulled back his hand saying: “Don’t do that. Do you want her to infect us with childbirth delay? Let her pray from the altar. She doesn’t need to touch our babies.”
Dear reader! Has your case degenerated to this level? Whatever delay you are experiencing in life (childbirth, employment, school admission, office promotion, business growth, healing, etc) will definitely be terminated in Jesus name!
However, you need to follow God patiently because he does not operate like a computer in every case. Make your faith in him an ever living faith. If you allow weakness or death of your faith, you may miss your miracle timing.
As at August 2016 when this female pastor was sharing her testimony, her son was celebrating his third birthday.
If you are sensitive enough to look around you with the eyes of God (Matthew 5:8), you will discover that there is nothing God has not done to prove to you that your problem is too small for him to solve. Increase the size of God in your heart. Study the word of God. Wait upon the Lord. Renew your strength.
“But they that wait upon the LORD shall renew their strength; they shall mount up
with wings as eagles; they shall run, and not be weary; and they shall walk and not faint” (Isaiah 40:31, Psalm 27:14).
I will end this piece with a conversation between Jesus and his disciples concerning a man that was blind from birth. “And his disciples asked him saying, ‘Rabbi, who sinned, this man or his parents, that he was born blind? Jesus answered, ‘Neither this man nor his parents sinned, but that the works of God should be revealed in him” (John 9:2-3). Some other translations say “that the works of God might be made manifest in him.”
Maybe you are yet to conceive in marriage. You know you are not living in sin or suffering from consequences of sin. You are not under demonic influence and you have fulfilled all medical and biblical requirements for child reproduction. Yet, you have delay in childbirth. Know today that as long as you are in Christ Jesus, God might be permitting your delay so that the works of God might be made manifest through you. God wants to use you to show the world his capacity and capabilities as regards fruit of the womb.
“No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is
faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear” (1st Corinthians 10:13).
You will carry your own babies and your marriage shall be a testimony in Jesus name.
