The ‘Sweetness’ Of Illicit Sex (Part 2)

“For a harlot is a deep pit and a seductress is a narrow well. She also lies in wait as for a victim and increases the unfaithful among men” (Proverbs 23:27)

Harlots are not on their own. They are on assignment, to pull you out of God’s purpose for your life. God did not send you into this world just to come and waste away in the sin of sexual immorality.

As for you female prostitute who stands on the highway, sometimes at night, waiting for a stranger of a man to sleep with you and give you money, remember that ritual killers are all over town now. A stranger takes you into a hotel room or his bedroom alone, and you are smiling sheepishly.

You that calls yourself a night crawler, leave your family at night and drive your car into town, looking for what may not be looking for you, are you sure you love yourself?

“Do you see a man (or woman) wise in his own eyes? There is more hope for a fool than for him” (Proverbs 26:12)

The devil is a liar and father of all liars (John 8:44). For instance, devil tells you that God helps those who help themselves. Many people even think it is in the Bible. Lie. It is not in the bible. If you can help yourself, then you don’t need Jesus. Jesus said in John 15:5, “…without me, you can do nothing.”

There are many wrong notions the devil has created about sex. Through this, he is manipulating people’s lives, especially in this era of technology. He might have told you and you believe that everybody is having sex indiscriminately. This is a big lie. It is not even possible. It is his desperation to destroy you that has created this impression that everybody is doing evil. It is not true.

Satan might have told you that sex is the only evidence of love. This is another lie. A prostitute cannot be in love with all the men sleeping with her at various hotels. Someone can have sexual intercourse with you regularly without any iota of true love.

Another lie from the devil is that a good sex could mean a good spouse. Sex is a very powerful force but it is not strong enough to make a marital relationship work if other critical factors are missing from it. Character plays a more important role in making a marital relationship work. The character of a person cannot be accurately measured or judged by how good or bad the person is in bed. A sex-driven relationship is originated by lust and gives blindness to the one who is all out just to satisfy lustful desires. When you are involved in it, you bluntly refuse to see the weaknesses and character flaws of your sexual partner because the pleasure of sex has taken over your faculty of judgement. A sex-driven relationship is self-centred and selfish. The moment you cease to derive pleasure from the sex, the relationship crumbles and your sexual partner looks out for another person who could possibly perform better in bed. All he/she knows about you is how good you are in bed and this is the criteria by which he/she measures your person. Your worth as a human being should be measured by values like integrity, honesty, vision, diligence, hard work, love, commitment and so on. Judging you by your sexual ability reduces you to the level of a prostitute.

The devil might also have told you that it does not matter who you have sex with. This is a big lie. He could also have encouraged you by saying that  sexual sin can be forgiven like any other sin. This is true but issues at stake go beyond God’s forgiveness. Why deliberately expose yourself to dangers of terminal disease contraction, incurrence of a damaged womb in attempted abortion, unwanted pregnancy, food poisoning and so on?

Many young people have also been made to believe that having sex with someone is the first step into marital relationship. This is lie from the devil. The correct process is this. When I fall in love with someone, that is the first step. Based on my love for the person and to prove that I truly love the person, I will marry the person. This is the second step. After marriage, I now have a license to have sex with the person. So, it is love, marriage, before sex and not the other way round.

If you are under the bondage of sexual sin, God can set you free through the power of his word.

“For the grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all men, teaching us
that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously and godly in this present age” (Titus 2:11-12).

“If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it
shall be done unto you” (John 15:7).

If you allow Jesus Christ to possess (intoxicate) your heart, much more than footballers and football matches (for those who are football fans); the word of God will begin to flow in you. The fear of God and desire to obey his word takes over. The kind of people you accept as your intimate friends will change. Then, illicit sex automatically becomes unattractive to you.
